About Place of Preservation
Our Mission
At Place of Preservation, our mission is to assist adults and youth with attaining and maintaining stability in life so they can learn to live an authentic, peaceful and productive life without the burden of anxiety, depression, anger and low self-esteem.
Place of Preservation Holistic Family Counseling is a private practice founded in 2023 in the Kern County area.
At Place of Preservation, we are dedicated to providing innovative and holistic therapeutic approaches to support our clients with healing.
Traditional psychotherapy (i.e., Eclectic, Person Centered, CBT, Solution-focused and DBT) is provided in addition to Somatic Trauma approaches.
Our goal is to teach clients how to alter their flight or fight responses through finding balance between the body's stress response system. We pride ourselves on our ability to support clients with coping after trauma and reclaiming their lives with confidence.
What we offer:
Individual Therapy
1:1 sessions via tele-health or in-person.
Group Therapy
Small groups of 6 to 8 designed to support youth with social-emotional development, postpartum mothers with navigating the stressors that come with motherhood and parents struggling to manage troublesome behavior of children ages 2 through 12.
Anger Management
We teach clients coping skills to support them with expressing anger in healthy ways.
Parent Course
We offer parent training using skills derived from 1,2,3 Parent Magic Effective Discipline Program to support parents with managing challenging behaviors exhibited by children.
Mindfulness/Meditation
A cognitive skill developed through meditation to support an individual with becoming aware of their senses and emotions.
Trauma- Informed Somatic Therapy
Trauma-informed somatic therapy is a body-centered approach to trauma healing that focuses on recognizing and releasing physical sensations and tensions associated with trauma, helping individuals process and integrate their experiences in a safe and mindful way.
Clinical Supervision Services
Place of Preservation Holistic Family Counseling Inc. provides clinical supervision to support associate clinicians in developing clinical competence, ethical practice, and professional skills. Supervision includes case consultation, assessment and treatment planning, documentation, risk assessment, ethical decision-making, and professional development.
The goal is to provide a supportive learning environment while ensuring quality client care and progress toward licensure.

Meet the Owner
Marasha Miller is a Licensed Marriage, Family and Child Therapist (LMFT). She is also certified as a Anger Management Specialist, Trauma Informed Professional, Mindfulness Professional, Parent Magic Trainer, Yoga Instructor (Yin/"Peaceful Babes" for youth), Sound Healing Practitioner and 5-in-1 Holistic Wellness Coach. Marasha’s expertise is in nervous system regulation where she offers a integrative approach to healing by combining traditional therapy with holistic wellness.
With over 15 years of experience in counseling, Marasha is well-known for the role she played in supporting at-risk youth in schools across the Kern County region. Marasha's passion is to empower clients to embody their authentic self by guiding them to reclaim their life through renewal of the mind and body.
